Knowledge Event: Ready for the Archives Act 2026

On Thursday, November 5, 2026, Docspro, Canon, and Dyanix are organizing a practical meeting for municipalities on the future of scanning and digital information management. After all, when physical documents are converted into digital information, it is important that this process is set up carefully, reliably, and in a future-proof manner. From the quality of the scanner and the scanning process to the software used to digitally process and manage documents.

This becomes particularly relevant with the arrival of the Archives Act 2026, which enters into force on January 1, 2027. The new Act replaces the Archives Act 1995 and modernizes the rules surrounding archiving so that they better align with the digital information management of government organizations.

During this day, we will therefore look at the entire chain from paper to digital. What is involved in substitution? What role does the scanner play at the front end of the process? And how do you set up further digital processing as carefully as possible?

From scanner to digital document

During this meeting, we will show which aspects play a role in the professional digitization of documents.

In doing so, we examine the entire chain, from the type of scanner and the actual scanning moment to the software used to process documents. We also consider substitution, where paper documents are replaced by digital reproductions subject to the applicable conditions.

In this way, we combine theory and practice. You will not only receive an explanation of the developments surrounding the Archives Act 2026 and compliance, but you can also view and experience various scanners in practice.

What can you expect?
